Description
A kVA is 1,000 volt-amps. It's what you get when you multiply the voltage (the force that moves electrons around a circuit) by the amps (electrical current). Kilovolt-amps measure what's called the 'apparent power' of a generator. This is different from kilowatts (kW), which measure the 'true power'.Diesel generators convert some of the chemical energy, contained by the diesel fuel, to mechanical energy through combustion. This mechanical energy then rotates a crank to produce electricity. Electric charges are induced in the wire by moving it through a magnetic field. The KVA of a generator required to run your home comfortably; For an average home, the required KVA should be at least 3 KVA to 5 KVA. With this power in a generator, you will comfortably be able to run all your household appliances. This includes your ACs and Fridge, as well as other items that use a heavy duty point.Kilovolt-amperes (kVA) measures the apparent power of the diesel generator. The power factor (PF) is the ratio between real power and apparent power. For example, if a building consumes 1900 kW and 2000 kVA, the power factor is ~90%.
