Description
A two‑valve manifold is a single block assembly that typically combines two valves (an isolation valve and a vent/calibration (bleed) valve) in one body. It is commonly used with pressure instruments, like pressure transmitters, gauges, switches, etc., for safely isolating the instrument, venting process fluid, and doing maintenance or calibration without shutting down the whole system. Sometimes "three‑way" is used to describe the "two‑valve manifold" because of the flow paths: process inlet, instrument outlet, and vent / bleed outlet. But physically there are two valves: one to isolate, and one to vent or bleed. Typical operation: Normal Operation: Isolation valve is open, vent/bleed valve closed → instrument sees process pressure. For Maintenance / Calibration: Close the isolation valve to block process flow to instrument. Open the vent/bleed valve to release (vent) the pressure trapped in the instrument line. Once pressure is safely relieved, remove or calibrate instrument. Return to Service: Close vent, open isolation. This avoids depressurizing the whole system or removing process fluid from large piping—only affects the instrument line. Also adds safety and convenience.
