Textured Marble Stone

Texture - granular. Grain size - medium grained; can see interlocking calcite crystals with the naked eye. Hardness - hard, although component mineral is soft (calcite is 3 on Moh's scale of hardness). Colour - variable - pure marble is white but marble exists in a wide variety of colours all the way through to black .marble, granular limestone or dolomite (i.e., rock composed of calcium-magnesium carbonate) that has been recrystallized under the influence of heat, pressure, and aqueous solutions. Commercially, it includes all decorative calcium-rich rocks that can be polished, as well as certain serpentines (verd antiques).
