Description
MELT FLOW INDEX TESTER (MFI-623) measures the flow rate of melted plastic to determine its viscosity and quality. Used in quality control and production, it heats the material and measures the rate at which it flows through a die under a specific load, providing critical data for polymer manufacturing.Melt Flow Index Test Apparatus: Used for flow of polyethylene at 200°C. It consists of following : Extrusion Plastometer : Temperature controlled by P.I.D.tempertaure indicator cum Controller possessing set value as well as process value on the display panel with an accuracy of 0.1°C. Cylinder of hardened steel : Fixed in a vertical position and possessing internal diameter of 9.550 + 0.025 mm. and uniform its length. Total length more than 115 mm. Heaters winded helically over the entire circular surface and isolated with asbestos bricks. This cylinder kept in hard chromed chamber. Piston : Made of mild steel and of sufficient length (more than cylinder) so that specified load 2.16 Kg. can easily mount over it. Piston have a head of length 6.35 + 0.1 mm. and diameter less than of cylinder. Piston is made of an ebonite plastic stud placing between the piston and load. Load : Total mass on the melted polythene, which act as load to exert a pressure equivalent to 2.16 Kg. Load provided.
