Multigrade Filter

Multi-grade filters are used in water and wastewater treatment to remove the solid particles, dust, and dirt present in water. The raw water flows into the filter inlet through the media bed. The media bed comprises different layers such as sand, pebbles, gravel, An MGF is used in water and wastewater treatment to remove suspended solids, dust and dirt present in the water. The MGF is a depth filter that makes use of coarse and fine media to create pore dimensions that retain large and small suspended particles.In a multigrade filter or pressure sand filter, water is passed through multi layers of filter media consisting graded sand, pebbles and gravels layers. The contaminants in the water are captured in the media bed and filtered water passes into the discharge manifold at the bottom of the tanks.The Multigrade Sand Filter is a depth filter that makes use of coarse and fine media mixed together in a fixed proportion. This arrangement produces a filter bed with adequate pore dimensions for retaining both large and small suspended particles.
