Oscillating Screen Or Rectangular Sieve

A sieve, fine mesh strainer, or sift, is a device for separating wanted elements from unwanted material or for controlling the particle size distribution of a sample, using a screen such as a woven mesh or net or perforated sheet material. The word sift derives from sieve.In the metallurgical industry a distinction is made between screening and sieving. The mechanism of size separation by both is the same, but screening generally applies to industrial scale size separations while sieving refers to laboratory scale operations.
