Parafilm PM-992 – 2 inch x 250 m Roll Parafilm PM-992 is a versatile sealing film suitable for a wide range of laboratory applications. With a width of 50 mm and a length of 75 meters, it offers extended coverage for sealing vessels such as test tubes, flasks, and petri dishes. The film exhibits excellent flexibility and can stretch up to 200% of its original length, ensuring a secure seal on various container shapes. It provides resistance to many polar substances, including saline solutions and inorganic acids, for up to 48 hours. However, caution is advised when using with non-polar solvents like acetone. Parafilm PM-992 is non-toxic, free of plasticizers, and composed of polyolefins and paraffin waxes. Its softening point is at 54°C, and the melting point is at 100°C. This film is ideal for applications requiring a reliable moisture and airtight seal, such as in chemical reactions, microbial cultures, and sample storage.
