Description: HIPS is a low cost plastic material that is easy to machine and fabricate. It is often specified for low strength structural applications when impact resistance, machinability, and low cost are required. It is frequently used for machining pre-production prototypes since it has excellent dimensional stability and is easy to fabricate, paint and glue. HIPS is used extensively in vacuum forming applications, for products such as point of sale displays and refrigerator linings. The material has high impact resistance and excellent thermo-formability. Typical sheet applications include screen printing, signage, displays. It offers a consistent, easily printed matte surface for either one or two sided printing applications. It is especially suitable for lithographic or flexographic printing of displays, POP graphics, signs, translights, tags and cards. Applications: Machined prototypes, low-strength structural components, housings, covers, point of sale, packaging, signs, food packaging – trays, house wares, toys, bathroom cabinets, refrigerator crispers.
