Chicken Killing Kone

A killing cone, also known as a restraining cone or poultry cone, is a funnel used in the slaughter of poultry. The cone is used to hold a to-be slaughtered bird upside down, thus allowing for the animal to be bled more easily.The killing cone consists of a restraining cone with a clamp device below to dislocate the neck. Although not ideal, this method can be used for the slaughter of small numbers of birds. In the EU and UK, this method must not be used to slaughter birds more than 5kg liveweight.
