Molten Sulphur Filters

A molten sulfur filter typically consists of a two-stage filtration system consisting of a horizontal pressure leaf filter with a steam jacket to maintain the sulfur in the molten state, followed by a polishing/safety cartridge filter (Donovan and Barnett, 1959).Sulfur is a pale yellow crystalline solid and in its molten form is a liquid. Sulfur must be transported in a molten state, otherwise it crystallizes and cannot be loaded or unloaded.
