NON STICK : Non-stick cookware is a common application, where the non-stick coating allows food to brown without sticking to the pan. Non-stick is often used to refer to surfaces coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), a well-known brand of which is Teflon. FOOD GRADE : Teflon PTFE is FDA Food Grade compliant. PTFE resins have an upper service temperature of 500º F (260 C) and is one of the most widely used fluoroplastic material. HEAT RESISTANT : Teflon (PTFE) – Teflon is most widely known for its non-stick properties as it has one of the lowest coefficients of friction against any solid known to man. But it also has a large operating temperature range, with enough thermal stability to be used between -328ºF and +500ºF without degrading. CHEMICAL RESISTANT : Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a durable and flexible elastomer of average tensile strength but remarkable chemical resistance, as well as excellent thermally and electrically resistive properties. At a molecular level, PTFE consists of a chain of carbon atoms with two fluorine atoms bonded to each carbon. NON FLAMMABLE : Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a totally fluorinated polymer which is white, semi-opaque, and semi-crystalline. It has excellent chemical resistance, is unaffected by nearly all chemicals, and has a very high oxygen index (i.e. is inherently non-flammable).
