A pulverizer or grinder is a mechanical device for the grinding of many different types of materials. For example, a pulverizer mill is used to pulverize coal for combustion in the steam-generating furnaces of coal power plants.Pulverizers use a stationary plate and a moving plate, working in opposition to trap particles in the adjustable gap and use compressive force to break them down. Unlike jaw crushers, the plates use rotational instead of oscillating motion and yield a product with a slightly narrower and more consistent size range.
