Tractor Bonnet ROD

A bonnet lock (also called a hood latch) is a safety locking mechanism that keeps the vehicle’s bonnet (hood) securely closed while driving and allows it to be opened when needed for maintenance. Primary Latch The main locking part that holds the bonnet tightly closed. Engages with a metal loop called the striker. Secondary Safety Catch A backup lock. Prevents the bonnet from flying open if the primary latch fails. Release Lever (Inside Cabin) Located near the driver’s seat (usually below dashboard). Used to unlock the primary latch. Release Cable Connects the inside lever to the latch mechanism. Pulling the lever pulls this cable. Striker Plate (Hook) Fixed to the bonnet. Locks into the latch when the bonnet is closed. Spring Mechanism Helps the bonnet pop up slightly after releasing the lock. When you close the bonnet: The striker enters the latch. The latch locks automatically (primary lock engaged). When you pull the inside lever: The cable pulls the latch open. The bonnet lifts slightly. Then you open the bonnet manually: You release the secondary safety catch by hand. The bonnet opens fully.
