Residential elevators, or home elevators, are a type of elevator designed for private residential buildings, or small commercial buildings.A passenger elevator is any elevator intended for the transport of people through a building. These elevators can vary drastically in terms of size, speed and interior options depending on the use of the elevator.There are three main types of elevators commonly used: traction with a machine room, machine-room-less traction, and hydraulic; however, there are variations on each type.Hydraulic and electric or cable-driven elevators are the two most common types. Each of these two types can be found in both commercial and residential settings. Hydraulic elevators have a basic design of a car attached to a lifting system. The car, inside the shaft is attached to guide rails or a rope.
