Description
The high-pressure pump is a centrifugal pump with a head of between 200 and 1200 m, which is used, for example, in pressure booster systems, Low-pressure, medium-pressure or super-pressure pumps are used for other areas of application.Reverse osmosis, also referred to as RO and desalination is a process whereby fresh water with unwanted contaminants, or sea water is forced through a filter/membrane at high pressure.Low-pressure pumps are centrifugal pumps with heads up to 80 m (e.g. chemical pumps). Alternatives for other heads are the medium-pressure, high-pressure and super-pressure pumps.Power recovery turbines (reverse pumps) which help save energy are another application. In many of these places, high-pressure pumps are used to feed water and/or chemical liquids to the pressurized environment or to flow water using pressure.A trash pump is designed to have a large flow rate with a low amount of pressure. A high-pressure pump is designed to move water with much higher levels of pressure. For example, a two-inch trash pump pumps 50 gpm at 35 psi. While a two-inch high-pressure pump will pump 50 gpm at 65 psi
