Roller burnishing is a plastic processing method that allows hard and smooth rollers to contact the metal surface with compressed revolutions, and it finishes the surface layer by giving the surface layer a partial micro plastic deformation.Roller burnishing is a surface finishing technique where hardened rollers cold work surface imperfections to reduce surface roughness. Roller burnishing differs from abrasive surface finishing techniques in that material is displaced rather than removed.In burnishing process, force is applied on the material surface by using hardened balls and, when the applied force is over the yield stress of the material, a distorted thin layer is formed on the surface.
