DESCRIPTION: GEARTECH EP GL5 is high performance gear oil formulated with high viscosity index mineral base oil quality, Sulphur-phosphorus type extreme pressure additives, developed for especially all kinds of steel gears, wind turbines and various types of industrial heavy loaded gearboxes and worm wheel boxes operating under normal to extremely heavy duty conditions. It provides superior resistance against micropitting fatigue. It has improved thermal and oxidation stability over conventional industrial gear oils. It has good demulsibility characteristics, low foaming tendency and provides rust and corrosion protection, wear protection to metal surfaces. It has excellent compatibility with ferrous and non-ferrous metals even at elevated temperatures. GEARTECH EP GL5 has low friction coefficient and good low temperature performance, which makes it ideal for wind turbine and other remote, long-life applications. PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS Meets & exceeds the performance requirements: Siemens MD revision 15 for Flender gear units, U.S. Steel 224 (AIST 224), AGMA 9005-F16 Antiscuff, DIN 51517, part III (2014), FAG FE-8 as per DIN 51819-3, David Brown S1.53.101 E, ISO 12925-1 (CKD) – 2002. APPLICATION:  Recommended for Wind turbine gear drives, power generation, Industrial gear drives & gearboxes especially for heavy loads and high shock loaded gear units such as Sugar Mill, cement industries, paper, steel etc. of all sizes and capacities, remotely located units and extreme high & low temperature environments, where maintenance is infrequent and access can be difficult.  Recommended for gear boxes using forced circulation or splash, oil bath lubrication.  Recommended for the lubrication of helical, bevel and planetary type of gear units.
