Sandstone Balustrades

A balustrade is essentially a railing system used for both interior and exterior applications. It is comprised of a top rail, balusters or spindles, the hardware necessary to secure the system, and often times a bottom rail, posts, post caps, and decorative balls or finials.The balustrade is the railing and baluster that prevents you from falling over the edge. It's also the collective name for the complete assembly of handrails, including spindles and newel posts. These can be highly decorative; turned, carved, forged, or even replaced by wooden or glass panels.
