Roof Forming Machine

A roof seamer is a portable roll forming machine that is used to install mechanically seamed structural standing-seam metal roof panels, as part of an overall metal construction building envelope system. The machine is small and portable to be handled by an operator on top of a roof. A roll forming machine (or metal forming machine) fabricates specific configurations out of long strips of metal, most commonly coiled steel. In most applications, the required cross-section profile of the piece is specifically designed for the machine to bend the metal as necessary.During the forming process, the forming machine supplies work to the workpiece in the form of energy. This energy is used to overcome the deformation resistance of the material and to initiate and maintain the formation of the workpiece.Applications and Products. Roll forming machines are used to fabricate rigid, high-strength parts from metals as light as aluminum to as heavy as 6-gague steel (1/2-in. thick). They are used to produce metal building components, studs, supports, angles, C-channels, U-channels, and hat channels.
