Polyolefin or POF shrink wrap is a premium shrink wrap, as it's extremely durable and versatile. POF is puncture resistant, and has a strong seal strength, which allows it to be used for irregularly shaped items. POF is available in 35, 45, 60, 75, and 100, 1 mil gauges.Polyolefin shrink film is used for almost every kind of application. Essentially, it is used to protect and package a single product, or to bundle multiple products together. It is particularly favoured for packaging less rigid items such as foodstuff, stationery, cards and electronic items, just to name a few.The three main wraps used in shrink packaging material for protecting and securing products for the retail and shipping environments are polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), and polyolefin (POF). Each has different capabilities and characteristics that make them suitable for specific applicationsPVC is more tear-resistant than polyolefin, but sensitive to temperature changes. Cold makes it brittle and heat makes it wrinkle. This makes it less useful for preserving items that may face those conditions. It also releases harmful fumes during sealing and heating.
