Hospital Stool

Your healthcare provider or a staff member from the lab will tell you how to collect a sample in a disposable specimen container with a lid. More than 1 specimen may be needed. Don't collect stool material from the toilet bowl or put toilet paper or urinate into the specimen container.It should be collected in a clean, dry screw-top container. Your doctor or a member of staff at the hospital will give you a plastic (specimen) container to use, although you can use any clean container as long as you can seal it.In English, stool was relegated to meaning seat without arms or back, while chair was adopted from the French chaisse meaning seat with back and/or arms. Stool then became slang for the thing you sit on to poop, and further became the word for the poop itself.
