Description

ER316H is a high-carbon (H) stainless steel welding wire (AWS A5.9) for welding similar stainless steels like 316H, 321H, and 347H, particularly in high-temperature, high-creep-stress applications like furnace parts, steam piping, and turbine components. The higher carbon content improves strength at elevated temperatures, while the molybdenum provides excellent creep resistance and corrosion resistance in certain media. This wire offers good weld quality for MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) processes, suitable for power generation, petrochemical, and fossil fuel industries. Key Characteristics AWS Class:ER316H, a solid wire. Chemical Composition:Contains molybdenum for creep resistance at high temperatures and a higher carbon content (0.04–0.08%) for elevated-temperature strength. High Temperature & Creep Service:Designed for long-term creep conditions in the 500-800°C range. Corrosion Resistance:Molybdenum also enhances pitting resistance in corrosive media, and the low ferrite level contributes to good cryogenic properties.
