Surface Planner

Used in the initial preparation of wood, producing flat faces and square edges. Problems can occur when fingers get dragged between the fence and guard and contact the cutters The board is fed into the machine until it makes contact with the in-feed roller which grips the board and draws it into the machine and past the rotating cutter head. The knives remove material on the way through and the out-feed roller pulls the board through and ejects it from the machine at the end of the pass.One sided single surface planers are used to size the thickness of material by cutting one face per pass. While most commonly used with wood, planers can be used with several other types of materials. planers are available in 20-55” and with digital thickness controls.
