Surgical Scrub Stations

A surgical scrub station is a room in a hospital beside an hospital ot room, where nurses and surgeons prepare themselves for operations. Surgical scrub is considered a vital procedure, as it reduces the risk of contagion by bacteria during surgical procedures.Scrub sinks, also referred to as surgical sinks or medical sinks, are vital to keeping Operating Rooms (ORs) up and running, and are imperative to the health and safety of patients. They serve as the scrub station for surgeons and other OR staff to scrub their hands and arms before a surgical or invasive procedure.The surgical scrub, when properly performed, has been shown to remove transient skin flora from the fingernails, hands and forearms; reduce the resident microbial population to an irreducible minimum; and slow the growth of bacteria in order to contribute to reducing the risk of a SSI.
