Sweet Corn Machine

It is a mutant type of field corn that collects more sugar and less starch in the kernels. The sweeter the corn, the less cooking time required. Sweet corn is gown in half of the states in the United States. Sweet corn belongs to the same species as field corn but has a genetic mutation (or mutations) that results in the corn kernels storing relatively more sugar than commonly grown field corn. Varieties with this mutation were first discovered and grown in Pennsylvania in the mid-1700s.Corn was originally domesticated in Mexico by native peoples by about 9,000 years ago. They used many generations of selective breeding to transform a wild teosinte grass with small grains into the rich source of food that is modern mays.
