Polyester Sand Filter

Sand filtration is used for the removal of suspended matter, as well as floating and sinkable particles. Sand filters are widely used in water purification and remove suspended matter by a completely different mechanism. Instead of the water passing through small orifices through which particles cannot pass, it runs through a bed of filter medium, typically 0.75 mm sand 750 mm deep.Silica sand used for water filtration has a sub-round to round shape, making it the perfect filtration media to capture solids suspended in water. Due to the high silica content in the sand, it is also very durable and hard-wearing. That allows it to be precisely graded for efficient filtering.
