Tapered Roller Bearings

Tapered roller bearings are a type of rolling-element bearing designed to handle combined loads (both radial and axial) effectively. They consist of four main parts: Inner Ring (Cone) – Fits onto the shaft. Outer Ring (Cup) – Fits into the housing. Tapered Rollers – Positioned between the rings, shaped like a truncated cone. Cage (Retainer) – Keeps rollers evenly spaced and aligned. The rollers and raceways are tapered so that the conical surfaces meet at a common point on the bearing axis. This design ensures that the load is transmitted evenly across the rollers, reducing friction and allowing high load-carrying capacity.
