This plant includes the following machinery: Washer (for thorough washing of tomatoes) Inspection Conveyor (for manual inspection and sorting of tomatoes) Elevator (to feed to the hot break system) Hot Break System (crushing and instant heating of crushed tomatoes to retain pectin).Tomato is processed into many products such as ketchup, paste, sauce, puree, soup, juice, and canned tomatoes. Considerable amounts of waste are generated after the tomato is processed. These wastes are sources of bioactive compounds that contribute to human health.
