Roots Blower

Roots blower is a kind of positive displacement pumps. The impellers, which keep a film-thin clearance between each other, rotate in the casing without contacting each other to transfer the gas from the suction end to the discharge end through the inner periphery of the casing.Roots is currently owned by Howden, a global provider of both compressors and blowers. Roots has been owned by other companies over the years including GE and Dresser Industries. Current blower nameplates will have the Howden logo, but many older units will feature the Dresser logo.
