Vibrating Screens: These are widely used for separating materials by size. They work by vibrating the screen mesh to allow smaller particles to pass through while larger ones are retained. Variations include circular vibrating screens, linear vibrating screens, and elliptical vibrating screens. Rotary Screens: These screens use a rotating drum or cylinder with perforations. Material is fed into the drum and the rotation allows finer particles to pass through the holes while coarser particles are retained. Disc Screens: Used primarily in the recycling industry, these screens have rotating discs that separate materials based on their size and shape. They are effective for separating paper, plastics, and other recyclable materials. Horizontal Screens: These are used when a flatter screening surface is required. They are often used in applications where a high throughput of material is needed. Trommel Screens: These consist of a rotating cylindrical drum with perforations. They are effective for handling large volumes of materials and are commonly used in composting and mining operations. Air Screens: These use air to separate materials based on their weight and size. They are often used in seed cleaning and in some recycling processes. Static Screens: These are non-vibrating and use gravity to assist in separating materials.
