Weighbridge

A truck scale, weighbridge or railroad scale is a large set of scales, usually mounted permanently on a concrete foundation, that is used to weigh entire rail or road vehicles and their contents. By weighing the vehicle both empty and when loaded, the load carried by the vehicle can be calculated.The main function of weighbridge is to weigh the entire truck loads of goods in industries where material can be weighed only at the time of movement from one place to another. A vehicle is weighed twice, once loaded with goods and once emptied to calculate the weight of materials.
