Wire Cutting Machine

Wire EDM machine uses a metallic wire (electrode) to cut a programmed contour in a workpiece. Extrusion dies and blanking punches are very often machined by wire cutting. In the machining area, each discharge creates a crater in the workpiece (material removal) and an impact on the tool (wear of the tool/electrode).A wire cutter (also known as a wire EDM) is based off the same principle as a traditional EDM. It uses an electrode, which is electrically charged, so that when it comes close to a conductive material, the electricity wants to jump across to it. This causes a spark, which lands on the conductive material and erodes it.The wire is connected to the negative terminal and workpiece is connected to the positive terminal of the DC power supply same as the working of electro discharge machining. The dielectric is calculated to the storage of tank at high pressure pump.
