Wire Rope Thimbles

A wire rope thimble is a teardrop-shaped piece of metal used to maintain the shape and integrity of an eye at the end of a wire rope. Wire rope thimbles protect against crushing force and ensure eyes maintain appropriate diameters.Wire rope thimbles also known as cable thimbles, are used for making reinforce loop(eyelet) with grips, clips or clamps by preventing fraying caused by friction at the bearing anchor point to protect and extend the service life of the wire rope or sling.Wire ropes are used dynamically for lifting and hoisting in cranes and elevators, and for transmission of mechanical power. Wire rope is also used to transmit force in mechanisms, such as a Bowden cable or the control surfaces of an airplane connected to levers and pedals in the cockpit.
